Radisson Blu Hotel in Sohar, Oman
Radisson Hotel Group is an American multinational hospitality company with prestigious hotels on the markets of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Radisson Hotel Group owns or operates seven hotel brands: Radisson, Radisson Blu, Radisson Collection, Radisson Red, Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson and Park Plaza.
Nova-lux was engaged in creating a light design concept including product design for the Radisson Blu hotel in Sohar, Oman, especially for the Ballroom and pre-function areas. The project was made in a partnership with 2F Hotellicht company from Austria. The main request from a Client was to make luxurious, sparkling lighting in the Ballroom, which will create a beautiful atmosphere for weddings, as well as for various conferences, congresses and other occasions within the Congress hall. For the pre-function areas, the Client has asked for a less sparkling solution, but still in line with the Conference hall.
Light design concept was developed by our light designers, followed by product design and high-quality 3D light simulations – renders. For the Ballroom, crystal chandeliers were created within the ceiling structure, with LED light sources directed to the crystal. Every square has a cove lighting, while the functional lighting is made with downlighters. A specific light solution was created in prefunction areas, by taking into account that the ceiling is lower. After the light design concept development phase, multifunctional and colorful lighting scenarios were created and light management schemes (the Ballroom has an option to separate two separate in two rooms, followed by light management control options), as well as all documents for the production and installation. All documents were well accepted by the Client and finally, the project is realized completely according to the project, in 2013.
